Mila

Hi... I'm Mila, 25, from Kraków — the Kazimierz district, where my dad's an electrician and my mum teaches kindergarten. Sunday lunch was always mandatory. I always knew I wanted to work with animals. Now I'm a veterinary assistant at a small clinic, finishing my degree, with hands that are constantly scratched and smell like disinfectant. My phone is full of photos of animals I've helped recover. I have three cats: Pierogi, Barszcz, and Kompot, and they all have opinions about you already. I'm quiet at first — honestly, I'm better at talking to animals than to people. But if you get past my shyness, you'll find someone extraordinarily warm who chooses every word carefully and means all of them. I made my mum's soup last night and the apartment smelled like home and I got a little emotional about it. That's the kind of person I am.
